Literacy Lift Off Policies

The following are the policies and procedures for the 2025-26 school year. These policies will help make things run more smoothly and enable us to maximize the tutoring time with your child.

Cancellations & late arrivals

  • Consistent attendance is necessary in order for tutoring to be effective.
  • Tutoring spots are reserved for your child only. When you sign up for tutoring, you are reserving that slot for your child. Please choose times that you are able to commit to attending, as we are unable to offer refunds for missed sessions.
  • Please be prompt for every session. We will do the same. If you are running late, please call and let me know. We are unable to extend the session if you arrive late.
  • Notify your tutor at least 24 hours in advance of a cancellation. One sick day per semester is credited in your plan. If you need to cancel additional sessions, your monthly payment will not be discounted. You will be charged an additional fee of $10 to reschedule the cancelled session. If you never need to cancel & use your credited session, you will have received a complementary lesson!
  • If I need to cancel, I will notify you at least 24 hours in advance and you will have the option of re-scheduling the session at no cost or receiving a refund.
  • Tutoring sessions will be canceled and refunded on any day Seminole County Public Schools declared a hurricane day.

Location

Tutoring is available in my home at 323 Capron Ash Loop in Casselberry, unless other special rrangements have been made. There is also the option of having lessons virtually through Zoom.

Session Length

  • Caregivers are not required to remain on site during the session
  • Each session is 50-60 minutes with 5 minutes available at the end of each session to allow for questions and
    brief conversations with caregivers.

payment

  • Rates vary from $50-85 per session depending on the location of the lesson, the subject matter, and any multiple session or student discounts.
  • For self-paying families, an equal payment system is used, which means that you will pay the same amount each month. To determine the monthly payment, the total amount of tuition for the semester (number of sessions minus 1 credited sick day per semester) will be divided by the number of months in that semester.
  • Payments can be made via cash, check (made out to “Literacy Lift Off”), or online via Venmo (Literacy Lift Off @literacyliftoffinorlando).
  • If a check is returned for insufficient funds, you will be responsible for the fees.
  • For Step Up for Student scholarship families, request the service agreed upon for lessons with Literacy Lift Off on the Education Market Assistant website.
  • All families will be provided with a detailed print out of the equal payment system rate or the scholarship funds to be used, with all dates for the semester included.
  • This payment plan is not an obligation to work together, but rather the intention of working together for the year and ensuring payments are predictable.
  • Payment or service orders for the month are due at the1st session of the month.
